The main activities of the Subcommittee Fluid Speed is to provide traceability and to explore developments/emerging technologies for the measurement of speed of fluids, specifically air and water. Technological applications of such measurements are: 

• the control of air exchange in white/medical rooms (very low speeds)
• the measurement of Indicated Air Speed (IAS) on jet liners (very high speeds), including wind monitoring for wind farms, wind warnings for cranes, river flow metering and monitoring, etc.
• the support of TC Flow by providing expertise and developing Regional Intercomparisons in its designated field
