Mass spectrometry imaging is a rapidly growing field to study molecules from the macro to nanoscale in 2D and 3D and in real-time. There are major challenges ahead to meet demanding requirements in biosciences and emerging electronics. Now is a critical time to bring together leaders in the principal techniques, innovators in instrumentation and data interpretation for in-depth scientific debate.
The work of EMRP project Traceable characterisation of nanostructured devices (NEW01 TReND) and follow-on EMPIR project Advanced 3D chemical metrology for innovative technologies (14IND01 3DMetChemIT) on advanced measurement techniques for 3D-resolved chemical composition and interfacial material properties will be presented at the meeting. These projects support the development of new, innovative products, enhancing the competitiveness of European industry.
