CIM 2017: Demonstrations of small angle generators

Calibration of an autocollimator by Large Range Small Angle Generator (LRSAG) of TUBITAK. Estimated expanded uncertainty U = 0.01"

Two novel large-range small-angle generators developed in EMRP project will be demonstrated on the EURAMET stand at International Metrology Congress

Improved angle measuring devices are needed for many applications; from the precision form measurement of optical surfaces used at synchrotron radiation beamlines, to the nanoradian angle measurements in high level science; in space applications such as calibration of accelerometers for space missions, monitoring the angles of telescope mirrors in astrometry (Star Tracking), determination of the Newtonian constant of gravitation G, and nanonewton force measurements.

EMRP project Angle metrology (SIB58 Angles) developed prototype devices to realise the radian, the SI unit of angle, and ensure reliable angle measurement.

Three novel, large-range small-angle generators were developed by project partners TUBITAK, TEKNIKER & CEM and CMI for calibration of autocollimators, which are used to measure angles. Two of these novel angle generators will be demonstrated on the EURAMET stand at CIM 2017.

These instruments and other innovative devices will be demonstrated on the EURAMET stand at the 18th International Metrology Congress (CIM 2017) on the 19-21 September 2017.
The full congress programme and registration details can be found on the congress website.
