Metrology Challenges for Nuclear Fusion - Workshop

Workshop on 'Metrology Challenges for Nuclear Fusion' at VSL (The Netherlands) on 22 November 2016

In times of scarce resources, increasing energy needs and climate change, one of Europe's Grand Challenges is Energy. Therefore, the energy theme is an important part of EURAMET's European Metrology Program for Research and Innovation (EMPIR).

In this respect VSL, the Dutch National Metrology Institute, would like to start a dialogue between experts working in the nuclear fusion sector and the European metrology community. The goal is to establish a long-term interaction between the two communities to further secure Europe's leading position in the field of energy generation by nuclear fusion.

VSL will host a one-day workshop on 'Metrology Challenges for Nuclear Fusion' on 22 November 2016, to provide a platform for the two communities to meet and discuss about ways of collaboration and funding opportunities.

Representatives of the nuclear fusion community will provide an overview on the current and future metrology challenges in fusion plants and there will be lots of opportunities to discuss concrete subjects for research proposals.

The workshop is free of charge.
However, registration is necessary and places are limited.
