30th European Frequency and Time Forum

The European Frequency and Time Forum (EFTF) is an international conference and exhibition, providing information on recent advances and trends in scientific research and industrial development in the fields of frequency and time.

EMRP project Compact and high-performing microwave clocks for industrial applications (IND55 Mclocks) will make use of recent advances in, for example, laser technology and techniques to prepare and detect atoms to develop a number of different types of vapour cell clocks. IND55 partners will be presenting at the forum.

In addition, EMRP projects International timescales with optical clocks (SIB55 ITOC), which aims at helping to prepare for a redefinition of the second in terms of an optical frequency by improving clock comparisons, and Quantum engineered states for optical clocks and atomic sensors (EXL01 QESOCAS), which aims to use techniques based on quantum entanglement to improve the short term stability of optical atomic clocks beyond the current limitations, will hold a satellite workshop. Complementing the scientific programme of EFTF, it will address recent developments related to the use of quantum engineered states to enhance the stability of optical clocks, as well as progress made towards using optical clocks for international timekeeping.
