This is the Nineteenth Symposium of the well-established series of conferences on thermophysical properties. The Symposium is concerned with theoretical, experimental, simulation, and applied aspects of the thermophysical properties of gases, liquids, and solids, including biological systems
The following EMRP projects will be presented at the conference:
- Metrology for thermal protection materials (SIB52 Thermo) will establish a framework for measurements of thermal conductivity in order to improve industrial measurement techniques up to 800 °C.
- Metrology for biogas (ENG54 biogas) will develop and validate methods so that the gas industry can reliably measure key properties of biogas and biomethane. This will result in the increased use of these renewable fuels throughout the EU and improve the security of the energy supply
- Metrology for earth observation and climate (ENV53 MetEOC2) will establish the tools, methods and infrastructure to help assign trustworthy confidence levels to climate change monitoring data.
- Metrology for decommissioning nuclear facilities (ENV54 MetroDecom) will develop methods for characterising and pre-selecting radioactive material; produce a facility to scan waste; provide remote mapping of contamination; and monitor waste repositories for leak detection and structural integrity.
