Traceability of the neutron reference fields in the energy range from 144 keV to 2.5 MeV

Project Description

It is intended to test the feasibility of establishing traceability to the calibrated neutron fields of the PTB for ISO-Energies below 2.5 MeV. Suitable equipment should be calibrated in the PTB reference neutron fields at the following neutron energies: 0.144, 0.25, 0.565, 1.2 and 2.5 MeV to transfer the knowledge of the spectral neutron fluence at the ISO-energies below 2.5 MeV at the neutron facility of the PTB to the CEA-facility at Bruyeres-le-Chatel by means of spherical proton recoil proportional counters to provide an experimental validation of the calculations of the Response of the transfer instrument used to measure the neutron fluence at the two facilities.
