Synchronization of time using telecommunication satellites

Project Description

The experiments will be based on a combination of the well-known passive television method, applied to the television signals of RAI UNO broadcasted from the ECS1 satellite at 11.07 GHz, and of the GPS satellites reception. With at least four stations capable of receiving both TV and GPS signals, the satellite position can be determined at an accuracy level that will allow high precision time comparisons for all the European laboratories receiving TV signals from ECS1 satellite.
