Survey of European countries' legal regulations and practices in ionising radiation calibrations

Project Description

The aim of the project is to gather all relevant information related to legal regulation and dissemination of ionising radiation calibrations in European countries. A questionnaire will be prepared and circulated to all European NMIs/DIs and participating authorities of HERCA in order to gather information. Information would cover topics related to radiation calibration legislation, dissemination, responsibility (responsible institution), traceability and possibly other related issues. A report on European countries' legal regulations and practices in ionising radiation calibrations will be prepared.

The project will meet the CCRI 2020 Strategy short term actions: ID i; Increase meaningful dialogue between NMIs and DIs, and ID j; SSDL results in the KCDB - establish methodology.

The type of collaboration will be consultation and the survey based on web questionnaire.

The status of ionising radiation metrology infrastructure in European countries is compiled. It is documented how traceability of activity and dosimetry quantities are disseminated and which organisations have been given this task in the European countries.
