Overview of design of custom 1D measuring benches/rails
Project Description
Many EURAMET NMI’s and DI’s have developed custom long-range 1D measurement benches/rails, which support their CMC’s for measuring tapes, line scales, measuring wires and similar 1D measuring instruments.
Since most of these benches/rails employ different designs, it is difficult to provide good data on optimal design with respect to cost and performance.
This project aims to gather data from participating partners on construction and design of relevant subcomponents of these devices, together with uncertainty budgets.
The expected result is a systematic overview of different designs, which should add important practical knowledge to this field.
