On-site peer review of DSA (Norway)
Project Description
The purpose of the project is the peer review of the CIPM MRA activities of DSA (Norway).
The dosimetry laboratory at DSA is a designated institute for the dosimetry quantities in Norway. The review of the QMS will include the relevant requirements for the competence stated in the standard of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the ionising radiation services included in the CMC tables of DSA.
Peer reviewers are Henning Kolbjørnsen JV (peer leader) and technical experts Jan Lillhök and Linda Persson from SSM, Sweden.
The peer review visit will be carried out 26.-27. November 2024. This is according to the schedule presented at the DSA re-evaluation in 2021.
The last peer review by radiation metrology experts was performed in 2019.
Final Report 2025-06-12
The dosimetry laboratory at Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA) is a designated Institute for Ionizing Radiation in Norway. In this project, the QMS of the dosimetry laboratory at DSA were peer-reviewed.
The review included the relevant requirements for the competence stated in the standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the ionizing radiation service included in the CMC tables of DSA.
The peer reviewers were Reidun Bergerud (lead assessor) from Justervesenet (JV, NMi Norway) and Linda Persson/Jan Lillhök (radiation metrology experts, technical assessors) from SSM, Sweden. The technical review was held on 28.-29. January 2025. The management review was held on 24 February 2025.
In the peer review, 12 non-conformities and four recommendations were recorded. The solving of the non-conformities and recommendations is ongoing and part of the normal handling of non-conformities in the QMS.
The quality system of the dosimetry laboratory at DSA were found adequate.
This project supported the adequacy of the laboratories quality system and its implementation to demonstrate the conformity with the requirements of CIPM-MRA and ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
The project has given an important contribution to the improvement of the laboratory’s QMS.
