Peer review of the National Metrology Institute of Lithuania (FTMC)
Project Description
According to the rules of the CIPM-MRA and EURAMET, participants of the CIPM-MRA shall undergo assessments of their quality management systems (QMS) by the experts from other NMIs.
This project will arrange a peer review at FTMC by the experts covering technical activities in the fields of Temperature, Electricity, Time & Frequency, Metrology in Chemistry, Ionizing Radiation, and Length as well as the operation of QMS in general according to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
This peer review will be implemented in collaboration with the three partners: Główny Urząd Miar, GUM (Poland), Český Metrologický Institut, CMI (Czech Republic), and Suomen Ympäristökeskus, MIKES-SYKE (Finland) in accordance with the EURAMET “Guide for on-site visits by peers in the framework of CIPM MRA“.
Technical experts from GUM will carry out the peer review in the areas of Electricity, Time & Frequency, Temperature, and Length. A technical expert from CMI will carry out the peer review in the area of Ionizing Radiation. And, a technical expert from SYKE will carry out the peer review in the field of Metrology in Chemistry.
The conclusions of the peer review will be presented at the TC-Q Annual Meeting in 2026.
Final Report 2026-01-13
The operation of FTMC's QMS has been assessed
The fields covered include the QMS in general, as well as technical activities in the fields of Thermometry, Electricity and Magnetism, Time & Frequency, Ionizing Radiation, Length, and Metrology in Chemistry.
The operation of QMS has been found to be adequate.
The assessors have issued 18 recommendations and 5 non-conformities – one in the field of Electricity and Magnetism, two in the field of Thermometry, and two in the field of Metrology in Chemistry.
Corrective actions and their deadlines have been agreed on.
