Measurements at DC divider ratios at voltages up to 100 kV

Project Description

The aim of this project is to compare the measurement systems of different European National Metrology Institutes (NMI) performing DC voltage measurements up to 100 kV. The transfer standard is a resistive voltage divider provided by NPL and participants are asked to measure the scale factor for the ratios 100 000 :1, 100 000 : 10 and 100 000 : 100 at voltages of 10 kV, 50 kV and 100 kV.

Final Report 2006-06-22

The project ist finished and the results are published in the KCDB.

All the measurements are completed. We are awaiting the report from VSL so that the overall report can be completed. The report has been started using the data available. The first draft should be finished a few weeks after the VSL report is received

The purpose of this project was to compare the measurement systems of various European National Measurement Institutes (NMI) who make DC voltage measurements up to 100 kV. The transfer standard is a resistive voltage divider provided by NPL and the participants were asked to measure the scale factor for ratios 100 000 :1, 100 000 : 10 and 100 000 : 100 at voltages of 10 kV, 50 kV and 100 kV. The 100 000:100 ratio was also measured at 1 kV. The divider had another ratio of 100 000: 2 which could be measured as an optional ratio.
All the measurements were completed in March 2001. The first version of Draft A has been distributed early in March 2003 and comments received from the participants. Draft B was prepared taking into account the comments of the participants. The final draft was submitted to the KCDB manager in early June 2006.
