Interlaboratory comparison of PRT-calibration and evaluation of uncertainty budget

Project Description

Interlaboratory calibration of Platinum Resistance Thermometer by comparison method at several temperature values in the range from -30 °C to 400 °C and analysis of the measurement results will be conducted by participating laboratories.

Final Report 2006-03-01

A platinum resistance thermometer was calibrated by comparison method at several temperature values in the range from ‑30 °C to +400 °C.
As the result of this project, the calibration procedures and uncertainty evaluation for secondary level calibration of the platinum resistance thermometers were compared and analysed.

The results of this project could be used by the participating laboratories in preparation, and submission of their Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC) tables to the Regional Metrology Organization (RMO). No reference values for this comparison were established, the calibration results were compared to each other only. Results of two participating laboratories are bilaterally in good agreement at all calibration points. The results of the third laboratory differ significantly at some temperatures.
