Intercomparison of calibrations of two G 400 turbine meters assembled in series

Project Description

A transfer package consisting of two turbines meters mounted in series (type G 400 - DN 150) M1 and M2 will be sent to circulate between each laboratory for calibration.

M1 will be equipped with a removable 5D inlet section flow straightener FC1 and M2 will be fixed with it's own flow conditioner. The aim of this work is to assess the systematic differences between laboratories and the effects of upstream velocity profile and flow perturbations developed in each laboratory.

Test configuration:

  • FC1 M1 - L - M2 (L: 5D straight length)
  • M1 - L - M2
  • M2 - L - FC1 M1

Absolute testing pressure: 1, 5 and 30 bars
Testing points: 5%, 10%, 25%, 40%, 70%, 100% of maximum flowrate.

Each institution will use it's usual procedure and will make a report giving test and calibration data, details of calculation of uncertainties and traceability. If any of the institutions are unable to carry out the full tests, they may perform just part of them.
