Harmonization of the uncertainty budget and calibration method for volumetric volume calibration

Project Description

There are several different approaches to uncertainty calculation and calibration method in calibration of volume measurement instruments when using the volumetric method. In order to have comparable results the laboratories should have a harmonised evaluation of uncertainty components and calibration method.

The main purpose of this project is to elaborate a guideline document describing the calibration method and the determination of the uncertainty in volumetric volume calibration.

The main purpose of this cooperation project that was finalized in Novembre 2012 was to elaborate a guide document describing the calibration procedure and uncertainty evaluation for the volumetric method. A numeral example was also developed for the calibration of a 2000 L proving tank. This document will be proposed as a EURAMET guide.
