FPG-type digital piston manometer – exchange of experiences
Project Description
The four laboratories using a novel type of digital piston manometer exchange information on the instrument on topics like :
- characterization of the effective area and the repeatability, especially in the pressure range below 100 Pa
- validation of the pressure measurements in both absolute and gauge mode
- estimation of uncertainty
- development of comparison methods
- maintenance and stability
Final Report 2012-03-03
The participants have continued their informal contacts, but since no new issues raised up related ot this subject, the participants decided to close the project (in EURAMET meeting in Malta 2011). It was agreed, that project was helpful espcially in the beginning (2005) when FPG-type piston gauges were new and there was not yet very much experiences. Similar project– exchange of experiences - can be opened when needed.

Progress Report 2008-03-13
The participating laboratories continue their informal contacts and arrange open project meetings during the Mass & DQ TC meetings, the latest was held on 6 March 2008 in Bucharest.
A questionnaire for problems, answers and comments is being circulated among the participants.
There are now 39 entries in the list of papers and conference presentations on FPG manometers or on the results obtained with FPG manometers. The list is maintained at MIKES.
UME (TR) joined the project in 2007.
Progress Report 2006-10-24
The participating laboratories continue their informal contacts. An open project meeting was held 2 March 2006 in Turin. Next meeting is planned for the Mass & RQ TC meeting in 2007.
INRIM (IT) has joined in the project in 2006.

The project was started in 2004. An open project meeting was held on 2 March 2005 before the EUROMET Mass TC meeting in Thessaloniki. In the meeting the participants told about their experiences and presented their results. Three papers on the FPG manometer will be presented by the participants in April 2005 in the 4th CCM Pressure conference.
A list of papers and conference presentations on the FPG-manometer was collected in MIKES. There are now 24 references in the list.
