Finalisation of the "Guidelines for Realisation of the Mass Scale"

Project Description

The EMPIR project 19RPT02 Improvement of the realisation of the mass scale delivered a draft version of the Calibration Guideline on the Realisation of the Mass Scale. Topics including different approaches to the evaluation of the results were discussed within the EMPIR project as well as with other members of the mass metrology community.

The aim of this project is to deliver a complete and updated version of the Calibration Guideline which will provide background for implementation of dissemination techniques for mass metrology for NMIs within EURAMET and for the wider mass community.

Progress Report 2026-08-07

Draft 4 of the Guide is currently under revision by participants of the project.

The format of the annexes will be standardised to ensure that the tables included here have the same format.
If no major issues are identified, the final version is expected by the end of 2026.

The "Guidelines for Realisation of the Mass Scale" should be published in 2027.
