Developing primary dew-point standards

Project Description

In this project, two primary dew-point generators are designed and constructed in co-operation between MIKES (Finland) and University of Zagreb (Croatia). The generators cover the dew-point temperature range from -70°C to +60°C and they will be used as the primary humidity references at University of Zagreb. The metrological performance will be thoroughly investigated. The uncertainty analysis will validated with a bilateral comparison with MIKES dew-point temperature standards.

In 2007, the saturators were constructed. Tests for the saturators were initiated in November 2007. In 2008, the saturators were characterized at MIKES and installed at LPM. The bilateral comparison (-70°C to +20°C) was carried out in years 2009 and 2010. The comparison has been registered as a supplementary comparison. The agreement between LPM and MIKES as well as between LPM and the EUROMET.T-K6 reference values is good. The results will be published in Tempmeko & ISHM 2010 Conference.
