Comparison of the calibration of thermocouples in fixed points and/or by comparison from 419,527 ºC (freezing point of zinc) up to 1492 ºC (Pd-C eutectic fixed point)
Project Description
The objective of this project is to perform a thermocouples comparison in order to establish the degree of equivalence of the calibration of thermocouples in fixed points and/or by comparison from 660,323 °C (freezing point of aluminium) up to 1492 °C (Pd-C eutectic fixed point).

The comparison has been completed and the results are published in the KCDB.
Progress Report 2019-04-30
The Draft A report were circulated among the participants, at present the coordinator is working in its modification after some comments received.
Progress Report 2018-03-12
All the measurements have been completed, and the data analysis performed in the absence of the confirmation of the preliminary results of CMI (CZ) and the rest of the required information. The 31st march 2018 has been set as final deadline to CMI, if no response the EURAMET Secretariat will be informed according to section 5.3 of the EURAMET Guide No 4.
Progress Report 2017-04-10
Since the last report in 2016, BEV (AT) and VSL (NL) has been voluntarily removed from the project because they were not able to perform the measurements .The status of the measurements is summarized below:
All the measurements have been completed, however the data analysis have not started yet because two participants have to send their results to the coordinator: MIRS/UL-FE/LMK (SI) and CMI (CZ).
Progress Report 2016-01-26
IPQ (PT) has been voluntarily removed from the project because they were not able to perform measurements and a new one, INRiM (IT) has jointed the comparison. The status of the measurements is summarized below:
- GREEN LOOP: Due to an extreme fragility of the traveling thermocouples the loop was closed and the two remaining participants moved to the other two loops.
- RED LOOP: INRiM and MIRS/UL-FE/LMK have to complete their measurements.
- BLUE LOOP: BEV and VSL have to complete their measurements.
Progress Report 2015-02-09
The comparison EURAMET. T-S3 is progressing with an average delay in their different loops of around 2-3 months. One of the participating NMIs, BoM (MK) has asked to be withdrawn from the comparison because they are not able to perform the measurements for technical reasons. There are also 4 other NMIs BEV (AT), VSL (NL), IPQ (PT) and NIS (EG) that have asked for a delay in performing their measurements due to technical reasons too. At the moment 12 out of 20 participants have completed their measurements.
