Comparison of personal dose equivalent at 0.07 mm and 3 mm depth, Hp(0.07) and Hp(3), for beta radiation

Project Description

The objective of this comparison is to support both existing and potential new CMCs of the participants. For this purpose an indirect comparison is proposed between the standards of the participants using a transfer chamber of PTB.

The updated technical protocol can be downloaded here>>.
The instructions for use for the transfer chamber and the electronic measuring device can be downloaded here >>.

Final Report 2023-10-31

The comparison has been completed and results are available in the KCDB.

Progress Report 2023-08-11

All measurements are completed; status of the final report: Draft A was agreed among participants - Draft B was agreed on by TC-IR and will be sent to CCRI(I) Executive Secretary and Chair for a six-week period of comments and editorial control.

Progress Report 2023-02-08

Measurements at all partners are completed. Due to transport and customs issues, there was another delay of approximately four months. Currently, February 2023, the final repeat measure-ments are being undertaken at the pilot laboratory (PTB) – then, the Draft A report will be prepared.

Progress Report 2022-05-09

Measurements in Europe, Asia, South Africa and North America are completed (14 partners). Covid‑19 virus, hardware issues and customs formalities delayed the measurements by several months. By now (April 2022), the comparison is continued (two partners to go).

Progress Report 2021-06-21

Measurements in Europe, Asia and South Africa are completed (13 partners). Covid-19 virus and hardware issues (electrometer defect) delayed the measurements by several months. By now (June 2021), the comparison is continued (five partners to go).

Progress Report 2020-06-15

Measurements in Europe and Asia are completed (eleven partners). Hardware issues (mechanical damage of the laptop controlling the measuring stand) and especially the corona virus delayed the measurements by several month.
By now (June 2020,) the comparison is continued.

Progress Report 2020-02-18

Measurements in Europe and Asia are completed (eleven partners). Hardware issues (mechanical damage of the laptop controlling the measuring stand) delayed the measurements by one month. An embargo prevents the participation of India.

Progress Report 2019-01-11

Measurements in Europe are completed (seven partners). Issues with customs formalities (with Russia and India) delay the measurements outside Europe – by now already nearly by five months.

Progress Report 2018-02-14

One year delayed due to technical problems; measurements at participants will start soon.

Progress Report 2017-03-13

Measurements at pilot laboratory (PTB) completed, measurements at participants running.

Progress Report 2016-06-02

Technical protocol and time schedule were approved by all participants.
