Comparison of 500 kg mass standard

Project Description

The aim of the project is to compare results about calibration of weight of higher nominal value and to check the equivalence of mass standards and facilities of the European countries used in the range of measurement from 20 kg up to 500 kg.

  • First stage: the pilot laboratory monitors the stability of the standard
  • Second stage: circulation of the standard between all the participants

Since European laboratories use different facilities and methods for calibration of weights of higher nominal values and also it is five years from the last similar comparison it is useful to check the equivivalence in this field of measurement.

Final Report 2003-07-31

The comparisan has been completed and the results are available in the KCDB.

Progress Report 2005-04-08

All participants (total nuber is 15 including the pilot laboratory) finished their measurements and provided the pilot laboratory (coordinator) with the measurement results for analysis.
The status of the comparison is a supplementary comparison and with the name EUROMET.M.M-S1.

The pilot laboratory (coordinator) has issued the Draft –A report and circulated it for comments.
