Circulation of Pond Eng. Ar Triple Point System K-38

Project Description

Many EURAMET NMIs recently purchased new Ar Triple Point (TP) systems. In the TC-T Meeting 2013, a number of NMIs (DTI, CMI, GUM, INTiBS, IPQ, LNE-INM, SMD and VSL) expressed their interest in an Ar TP comparison based on the circulation of Pond Eng. Ar TP system K-38. It was decided that, before starting such comparison, four NMIs (CMI, GUM, SMD and VSL) will investigate the feasibility of such comparison by preliminarily circulating the K-38 system among their labs. Such preliminary investigation will allow to test the potentiality of this comparison scheme (circulation of the K-38 among all participants) before launching the comparison.

Progress Report 2019-04-01

During the TC-T meeting 2014, it was decided to leave in stand-by mode this project, waiting for the completion of the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison. At the end of the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison, in light of its results, we will decide whether to re-vitalize this project or close it down.

Progress Report 2018-02-28

We expect measurements to be finished by the end of this year, report before March 2018.

Progress Report 2017-04-20

This project is kept in stand-by until the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison is completed. No progress in the past year.

Progress Report 2017-04-06

As agreed during the TC-T meeting 2014, this project is left in sleeping mode waiting for the completion of the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison.

Progress Report 2016-02-03

As agreed during the TC-T meeting 2014, this project is left in sleeping mode waiting for the completion of the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison

Progress Report 2015-02-09

In 2014 the main residual problem with VSL Pond Eng. System K-38 was solved (the source of spikes was identified in the remote monitoring through the IEEE).
During the last TC-T meeting (April 2014), it was decided to leave in stand-by mode this project, waiting for the completion of the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison. At the end of the EURAMET.T-K9 comparison, in light of its results, we will decide whether to re-vitalize this project or close it down.
