Bilateral study comparison in the high vacuum range from 5E-7 Pa to 9E-4 Pa.

Project Description

Bilateral study comparison (pilot study) in the high vacuum range from 5E-7 Pa to 9E-4 Pa. Measurements will be performed in the scheme IMT - CMI - IMT. The transfer standard will be an extractor gauge provided by IMT. The medium will be nitrogen.

Progress Report 2023-03-13

At the end of 2022 IMT acquired a new controller for ISO gauge from Inficon and built a transfer standard package consisting of ISO gauge, extractor gauge and SRG. The transfer standard package is now being evaluated at IMT for the time stability, including handling like venting and bake-out. It is foreseen to complete this evaluation by end of May 2023 and then the transfer standard package will be transported to CMI for comparison measurements.

Progress Report 2022-02-23

The start was delayed due to the fact that VNIIM showed interest to take part, but then withdrew. Later delays were caused by Covid-19. There was a brief CMI-IMT meeting in Prague in mid-December 2021. We discussed a possibility of using a brand new ultra-stable ion gauge as a transfer-standard. IMT is now seeking the possibilities of a suitable control unit for this ion-gauge.
