Bilateral comparison on Power Measurements Between UME and PTB

Project Description

According to the program, comparison measurements should be performed between two standards, which have different operation principles; sampling method (UME) and thermal method (PTB). However, the new PTB standard PPSS (Precision Power Sampling Standard), which has a similar principle as the UME standard, was preferred to be used during the measurements, as it allows lower measurement uncertainty. The measurements were performed at PTB with a transfer standard (C1-2) between 15th October and 1st November 2002. Measurements were made at around 50 Hz and with the voltage and current values of 120V and 5A, respectively. And the power factor values were 1, 0.5, and 0, inductive and capacitive. Besides, the voltage and current transducers of the two systems were also compared to each other.Final calculations and analysis showed a good agreement between the two systems.
