Bilateral comparison on determining the calibration factor of thermistor mounts up to 18 GHz

Project Description

This project is a bilateral follow-up of the EUROMET key comparison EUROMET.EM.RF-K8.CL (EUROMET project 633). The pilot of this bilateral comparison, NMi-VSL, was also the pilot of EUROMET.EM.RF-K8.CL. The protocol is the same as that used in EUROMET.EM.RF-K8.CL, with the appropiate changes in participants, time schedule and transfer standards. Two thermistor mounts will be used as travelling standards, one from MIKES and one from NMi-VSL, both with Type-N connector. As usual, these power sensors are to be calibrated in terms of calibration factor with respect to the reference frequency of 50 MHz, together with the appropriate uncertainty statement. The value of the reflection coefficient has to be determined, too. Both participants measure each of the travelling standards at eight frequencies: 0.01 GHz, 0.05 GHz, 1 GHz, 4 GHz, 8 GHz, 12 GHz, 15 GHz, and 18 GHz.

The results of the comparison will be linked with EUROMET.EM.RF-K8.CL and are supposed to be included in KCDB.
