Bilateral comparison of the dew point temperature between TUBITAK UME and NIS

Project Description

A co-operation between TUBITAK UME and NIS are undertaken to carry out this project.
The aim of this bilateral comparison is to establish the degree of equivalence between realizations of local scales of dew/frost-point temperature in the range -40 °C to 50 °C, among the participating national metrology institutes.
It was decided to use one Dew point meter provided by NIS. It will be measured in both participant laboratories using their different facilities.

The technical protocol used at the comparison of the EUROMET.T.K6 will be used for the dew point measurement.

Final Report 2010-03-29

The aim of this bilateral comparison is to establish the degree of equivalence between realizations of local scales of dew/frost-point temperature in the range -40 °C to +50 °C, for the participating national metrology institutes.
Both institutes used two-pressure humidity generators in this comparison. A dew-point meter (manufacturer MBW, model DP30) with its accessories belonging to NIS was transported to TUBITAK UME for bilateral comparison.
The measurements of the comparison were completed in the field of dew-point temperature over the range from -20 °C FP up to 50 °C DP.
The mean difference between the laboratories is within ±0.09 °C with estimated expanded uncertainty 0.22 °C in the whole range from -20 °C to +50 C.
The results of the comparison will be presented at the TEMPMEKO & ISHM 2010 symposium to be held in Slovenia..
