Bilateral comparison of ITS-90 SPRT calibration from the Hg TP to the Zn FP

Project Description

Bilateral comparison of SPRT calibration at ITS-90 fixed points. JV provides linkage to ongoing EURAMET.T-K9.

Final Report 2020-08-07

The comparison has been completed and results are available in the KCDB.

Progress Report 2019-03-06

All measurements have been concluded and the report is under review. The last version with updates and corrections according to reviewer comments was submitted in January 2019.

The protocol was approved in June 2017 and the measurements started soon after. They were completed in November 2017 when Metrosert conducted a second run of measurements. The Draft A report was reviewed by both participants in February 2018, and the first version of the Draft B report has been submitted for review to the CCT KCWG. The review is still in progress.

The results are satisfactory, with agreement between JV and Metrosert within uncertainty. However, publication of the results await the approval of the report.

The ultimate goal is to link the results to the EURAMET-T.K9. This is expected to be crucial support for Metrosert in claiming CMC values at the fixed points under study (the triple point of Hg, the melting point of Ga, the freezing points of Sn and Zn). This final linkage will be done as soon as the results from the that comparison are available.
