An assessment of medical ultrasonic field measurements
Project Description
The overall aim of the project is to establish a common means of measurement and characterization of medical diagnostic ultrasonic fields based on working to IEC 1157. The ptoject will involve each participant making measurements on sources using calibrated small-area hydrophones inthe megahertz frequency range. Two reference sources will be used : one a pulse Check source and the other a small portable ultrasound scanner. Each laboratory will undertake measurements of the acoustic output of these sources in accordance with IEC 1157. Reference measuremnets will be made by the co-ordinating laboratory at the begining and the end of the project and checks will be made during the project
Part funded under the EC contract MAT1-CT940064 administered by the Standards, Measurement and Testing Programme.
