A comparison method for microphone pressure calibration

Project Description

The purpose of the project is to develop a method for the determination of the pressure sensitivity of working standard microphones by comparison wit a laboratory standardmicrophone. The results of the work will be used to write a part of IEC 1094 (Measurement Microphones).

The methods to be tried include active couplers, couplers with microphones as transmitters, substitution methods with monitor microphones, and comparison between two closely spaced mirophones in a free-field.

Further Information

The role of each participant has been agreed and preliminary work has started. When this project is complete, and practical methods have been identified, a wider Euromet project will be proposed involving the intercomparison of microphone sensitivities determined by these methods.
