100 MPa Hydraulic Pressure Comparison

Project Description

The objective of the work will be to compare the determined values of A0, the effective area of a pressure balance at zero pressure, and any pressure dependent term, plus the uncertainties for each parameter. Only the piston-cylinder will be circulated; all other equipment will be that normally used in the respective participants' laboratories.

Final Report 2000-09-29

The comparison has been completed and the results are published in the KCDB.

The measurements for this comparison have been completed and a report agreed and published as “Report on a comparison of pressure standards in the range 10 MPa to 100 MPa”, NPL Report CMAM 54.
The results of this comparison were very satisfactory. The conclusion of the report states that all participants who submitted results can be considered as being consistent with the calculated reference value, and with each other, within their claimed uncertainties at a confidence level of k=2.
