On-site visit by peers of IAEA

Project Description

According to the rules of the CIPM-MRA and EURAMET participants of the CIPM-MRA should organise on-site visits by peers. This project will arrange an on-site visit by peers covering both, CMCs in the field of ionising radiation and the QMS system according to ISO/IEC 17025.

The on-site visit will be carried out by technical experts from ENEA and PTB.

Final Report 2021-02-22

An on-site visit by Peers was conducted by experts from ENEA (Dr. Massimo Pinto) and PTB (Dr. Kai Stoll-Malke) in the Dosimetry Laboratory of the IAEA Dosimetry and Medical Radiation Physics Section in Austria, Seibersdorf from 28th to 30th September 2020. At the request of IAEA, the review team was supported by an expert (Dr. Irena Koniarová) from the Czech National Radiation Protection Institute (NRPI), which is located in Prague.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis the PTB expert, who peer reviewed the systemic aspects of the QMS according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 performed his part of the peer review remotely, while the technical experts from ENEA and NRPI were able to visit the laboratory on-site. The ENEA expert focused on the CMCs provided in the dosimetry area, while the NRPI expert focused on dosimetry audit services provided by the IAEA laboratory. The final Peer Review report was sent to IAEA on 23rd November 2020.
