Comparison, mass standards - 100g, 10g, 500µg, 200µg & 100µg

Project Description

This comparison is intended to extend the range of potential mass measurement below 1 mg for the first time. Weights of nominal values 100 µg, 200 µg and 500 µg will be calibrated by the two participating laboratories (LNE and NPL).

Additionally weights of 10 g and 100 g will be calibrated by the participants to provide linking to comparison projects 445 and 786.

Final Report 2011-02-23

The comparison has been completed and results are available in the KCDB.

Progress Report 2010-04-14

The measurements are complete and the data has been analysed by an independent third party (Ulf Jacobsson, IRMM). Due to the relative instability of the sub-milligram fractional weights the analysis was performed as bilateral comparisons between the pilot laboratory (LNE) and the two other participants (NPL and PTB). With the agreement of the participants the results were presented at the Technical Session of the TC-M contact persons meeting in Istanbul in March 2010. The final report (Draft A) is in production and will be circulated to participants by the end of April 2010.

Progress Report 2009-04-12

This comparison is intended to extend the range of potential mass measurement below 1 mg for the first time. Weights of nominal values 100 µg, 200 µg and 500 µg will be calibrated by the two participating laboratories (LNE and NPL).
Additionally weights of 10 g and 100 g will be calibrated by the participants to provide linking to comparison projects 445 and 786.
Weights have been calibrated at the pilot laboratory (NPL) and at LNE and PTB. Final measurements will be performed at NPL and the results will be analysed.
