Calibration of short steel gauge blocks by mechanical comparison

Project Description

Comparison calibration of seven short steel gauge blocks (nominal lengths 1,005 mm to 90 mm) will be performed in four national laboratories. The organizing laboratory (LTM - FS Maribor on behalf of MIRS Slovenia) will prepare instructions and write final report. The planned duration time is 3 months.

The following features will be measured on each gauge block, according to ISO 3650:

• central length: deviation from the nominal value
• where possible, variation in length: at 5 measuring points
   

The results will be used for research purposes in the sense of reviewing uncertainty budgets and also to confirm the stated CMCs of the participating laboratories.
