The project

EMPIR project ‘Metrology for radon monitoring’ (16ENV10, MetroRADON) is working to provide traceable measurement and new calibration procedures for the monitoring of radon. The overall objective of the project is to enable traceable monitoring at low radon activity concentrations, in support of the European Council directive 2013/59/EURATOM (EU-BSS).

The project consortium is pleased to be running a radon monitoring workshop and radon measurement training seminar on consecutive days in May 2020.

Workshop on new procedures for radon monitoring, 12 May 2020

Results from the project, including new standards and calibration facilities for radon, will be presented at this scientific workshop. Results from the technical work packages, follow up, research topics and further work will be discussed.

Training seminar for radon instrument calibration and measurements, 13 May 2020

New procedures, guidelines and methodologies for radon instrument calibration and radon measurement developed, will be presented at this training seminar.

Who should attend

Those from industry, academia, regulatory bodies and scientific sectors with an interest in metrology for radon monitoring.
