Trade journal publishes work of EURAMET project
New classification system for photovoltaic devices
The project
EMRP project ‘Towards an energy-based parameter for photovoltaic classification’ (ENG55, PhotoClass) developed a new classification system of photovoltaic (PV) devices based on their energy output under different climate zones that led to the new documentary standard IEC 61853. This reliable data enables governments and industry to make informed decisions over which PV technologies are most suitable for real operating conditions.
PV magazine article
An article entitled ‘European researchers seek standard to assess short-circuit current temperature of PV devices’, about the work of this EMRP project, has been published in PV magazine, a monthly trade publication for the international photonics community. This will help to foster the uptake of the project results and ultimately increase the impact of the project research.
EMRP joint research projects are part of EURAMET’s European Metrology Research Programme. The EMRP is jointly funded by the EMRP participating countries within EURAMET and the European Union.
