The EMRP at Euronanoforum 2013

The EMRP attended EuroNanoForum 2013, Europe’s largest nanotechnology conference, held from 18 - 20 June 2013 in Dublin, Ireland. The conference coincided with the Nanotech Europe exhibition and Nanoweek Ireland, and was supported by the European Commission Directorate for Research and Innovation.

The conference gathered together experts and decision-makers from the nanotechnology community to focus on the impact of nanotechnology in improving people’s lives, particularly in the key societal sectors such as health, energy and environment. Attending EuroNanoForum 2013 were 1,200 delegates from 50 countries and high profile speakers from industry, government and research. They discussed key topics such as the economic and technological impact of nanotechnologies on European growth.

At EuroNanoForum 2013 the EMRP gave a presentation entitled ‘The European Metrology Research Programme – the Future of Joint Research’. The presentation examined the role of the EMRP and its impact so far, as well as highlighting the nanotechnology projects funded as part of EMRP Call 2011 – New Technologies. The EMRP’s presentation was part of the ‘Measurement and Control Enabled by Nanotools’ session on 18th June, which focused on ‘state-of-the art of measurement and control enabled by nanotools’ and demonstrated a number of success stories.
