Submit your applications for a BIPM–TÜBİTAK UME training initiative

The BIPM and TÜBİTAK UME, the National Metrology Institute of Turkey, are running a joint training initiative entitled "BIPM–TÜBİTAK UME project placements" (2018 & 2019).

The initiative is aimed particularly at relatively inexperienced scientific and technical staff from BIPM Member States or Associates (and from NMIs that are in advanced negotiations with the BIPM to become a Member State or Associate) that have emerging metrology systems. Potential attendees should submit their scientific interests and intentions as a project. The training programme will be designed individually for each participant, considering the participant's research area and the laboratory capabilities at TÜBİTAK UME.

Dates and short information:

  • Applications are open until Friday, 9 November 2018
  • Successful candidates will be selected and notified of their placement by 26 November 2018
  • For the successful candidates, laboratory and accommodation costs will be covered by TÜBİTAK UME. The trainees are responsible for their own travel, insurance and personal expenditures.
  • The project cycle will start on 1 March 2019. Placement durations at TÜBİTAK UME range from 1 to 3 months depending on the trainees' research interests and preferences.

Full information and guidance for applicants are given on the BIPM website.
