Metrology Partnership Call 2025: Finalisation of evaluation process
The evaluation process for Stage 2 of the 2025 Metrology Partnership Call has been finalised
Following the Review Conference held in November 2025, where external independent referees evaluated and ranked the proposals, the Partnership Committee recommended, and Board of Directors agreed, on a final list of selected projects to fund.
The following proposals have been selected and will be invited for contract negotiation:
Health:
- Metrology to ensure rapid and accurate diagnostic response to current and emerging infectious diseases
- Metrology for breath gas analysis
- Metrology for diagnostic imaging using spectral computed tomography
- Standardisation of targeted and untargeted metabolomic quantitative methods for their future use in routine clinical diagnosis
- Metrology to support sustainable development of nanomedicines for therapy and theranostics
- Metrological framework for the practical use of luminescence thermometry in healthcare
- Metrology for molecular Measurable Residual Disease (MRD) testing in cancer and precision medicine
- Metrology for medical electrical equipment
Integrated European Metrology:
- Self-calibrating photodiodes for integrated and infrared technologies
- Advanced VNA-based microwave on-wafer measurements for electronics and 6G communications
- Advancing European quantum-based pascal infrastructure: Innovation and integration in pressure metrology
- Quantum-enabled nanoscale magnetic field metrology for traceable standards
- Advancing impedance metrology in an extended frequency range
- Optical clocks for improved time scales
- Establishing reliable and integrated gravity metrology for emerging applications
- Cryogenic RF measurements for quantum and semiconductor technologies
- Advancing the roadmap criteria for the redefinition of the second
Metrology for Regulation:
- Metrology support for the development of standardised methods for methane emission detection and quantification
- Metrology support for particulate matter metrics in the revised EU Air Quality Directive
- Optimised and justified decision-making in radiological and nuclear emergencies – trustworthy and accurate data for regulators
- Metrology to support legislation for electric vehicle supply equipment
Research Potential:
- Advancing the European metrology for wideband AC voltage
- Supporting emerging technology uptake for thermodynamic temperature dissemination
- Advanced digital infrastructure for harmonised temperature metrology systems
Once negotiated, more information about these projects will be made available on the Metrology Partnership Calls page.
