Marc Pieksma, Deputy Chair of EURAMET’s EMPIR Committee

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Marc Pieksma, Deputy Chair of EURAMET’s EMPIR Committee, who passed away on 14th of April 2023.

Marc was Operations Director and Programme Manager at VSL, the Dutch National Metrology Institute.

He was EURAMET Delegate from 2020 to 2023 and Representative in the EMPIR Committee from 2019. Marc was Deputy Chair of the EURAMET’s Partnership Committee since its establishment in 2022. In 2007 Marc became Contact Person of EURAMET’s Technical Committee for Interdisciplinary Metrology.

Marc will be remembered for his positivity and his great engagement with EURAMET.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.
