EMRP Review Conference
The European Metrology Research Programme held the landmark "Review Conference" in Paris on 24th and 25th October. This was a major event involving an independent evaluation of more than 108 MEUR of proposed metrology Joint Research Projects (JRPs) against an available budget around 64 MEUR, (approximately one third from the EC and two thirds of the support coming from the national programmes). The JRPs were evaluated by 28 independent International Referees. Each of the 39 proposed JRPs was represented by a JRP-Coordinator who presented a poster and answered questions from the Referees. The quality of submissions was very high and competition was stiff with 36 of the 39 proposals passing the quality threshold. Budget constraints allow the 21 top ranked JRPs to be supported, however the list of selected JRPs is still preliminary and must go through further validation stages, prior to confirmation of the funded projects.
