EMRP project SIB07 ‘Qu-Ampere’ published in Nature Nanotechnology

An article summarising some of the achievements of the EMRP project SIB07 Qu-Ampere has been published in Nature Nanotechnology. 

EMRP project ''Quantum ampere: Realisation of the new SI ampere' aims to develop state-of-the-art Single Electron Transport (SET) devices, which generate electric current by moving only one electron at a time, and by combining them with detectors to create quantum current sources for use as standards. Through joint collaboration between PTB, the University of Hannover and the University of Latvia, a non-adiabatic single electron pump was, for the first time, verified unambiguously through correlation measurements. The results impact on fundamental physics research and on applications in quantum information processing.

Nature is the leading weekly, international scientific journal and was first published in 1869. It is widely regarded as one of the few remaining academic journals that publish original research across the life, physical, chemical and applied sciences and clinical medicine. Nature Nanotechnology covers research into the design, characterization and production of structures, devices and systems that involve the manipulation and control of materials and phenomena at atomic, molecular and macromolecular scales.
