EMPIR project paper wins Junior Award at international conference

Presentation on force lever systems for wind turbines wins at IMEKO World Congress.

Recently completed EMPIR project ‘Torque measurement in the MN•m range’ (14IND14, MNm Torque) aimed to provide traceability for torque measurements to support the development of robust wind turbine generators.

Just after the official end of the project the project consortium hosted a special session at the IMEKO World Congress in September 2018 in Belfast. Project outcomes were presented to an international scientific audience and five scientific papers were given. One of the presentations ‘A finite element analysis of effects on force lever systems under nacelle test bench conditions’ was awarded the prestigious György Striker Junior Award (http://www.imeko2018.org/papers/).

 

This EMPIR project is co-funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and the EMPIR Participating States.
