The Council of the European Union has adopted the Innovation Investment Package

Like the European Parliament a few days ago, the Council has now adopted the Innovation Investment Package, including EMPIR, EURAMET's proposed European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research.

With great delight the EURAMET community took note of the Council`s decision: "This was the final step for the implementation of EMPIR." Now the European Commission and EURAMET will start contract negotiations for EMPIR.

Please find enclosed the according press release and the co-decision text for EMPIR, which is legally binding for the lifetime of the programme.
