Consultation on UK Measurement Strategy

EURAMET Member and National Metrology Institute of the UK, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), is seeking your views on current and future requirements for measurement and calibration in the UK. Help tailor the future UK strategy on measurement, to prioritise the services and support needed, and to maximise the impact of government investment.

Confidence in data is critically important for decisions made by government, industry, science, and in health. Modern economies invest in world-class measurement research and infrastructure to provide this confidence and thereby increase productivity, accelerate the development of new technologies and improve the quality of life for their populations.

The period covered by the current UK National Measurement Strategy (2011 - 2015) is now coming to an end and NPL, on behalf of the UK government's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and in collaboration with the UK's Designated Institutes (NMRO, LGC, NEL, NGML, NIBSC), is seeking your views on future priorities for the development of the upcoming strategy covering the period 2016 - 2021.

NPL is interested in responses from all measurement stakeholders, especially those in contact with UK measurement infrastructure or industry.

The UK Measurement Strategy consultation survey is open until 14 December 2015 and should take 5 to 10 minutes to complete. NPL also welcomes the opportunity to explore your views more extensively if you feel you could make additional contributions to the consultation. Please contact consultation@npl.co.uk
