80 Years of Italian Metrology in Turin

Anniversary from 4 to 6 December 2014

In 1934 the first Italian Institute devoted to Metrology was founded in Turin. It was the Istituto Elettrotecnico Nazionale "Galileo Ferraris" (IEN).

This year 2014, 80 years since Metrology has officially settled down in the city, the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM), IEN's heir, is organising an international event aiming to celebrate the anniversary.

The celebrations will take place in Turin. The programme includes a visit to the INRIM laboratories and conferences held by the Nobel Laureates in Physics William Phillips and David Wineland and by Presidents or Delegates of Metrology Institutes from all over the world.
