2–3 June 2011: Training course on Time and Frequency Measurement

2nd – 3rd June 2011: Training course on Time and Frequency Measurement at EIM, Thessaloniki (Greece)

A professional training in the field of measuring Time and Frequency as metrology quantity was held on 2nd and 3rd June 2011 with 10 participants from coming from Bosnia und Herzegowina, Ireland, Kosovo, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia and Serbia. The training was organised by the Hellenic Institute of Metrology "EIM"  (Greece) within an activity of the EURAMET Focus Group on Facilitating National Metrology Infrastructure Development and was conducted by a group of EIM experts working in the  field of Time and Frequency.

Realized activities related to the mentioned training were:

  • Theoretical presentations related to "Basics of measurement of time and frequency" Presentation of the Greek national standard for time and frequency as well as the ways of realization continuous measurement of time and frequency
  • Implementation of the national time scale UTC (EIM) as well as development and maintenance of time transfer links
  • Practical conduction measurements of time interval and frequency as well as the analysis of measured results with the evaluation of measurement uncertainty.
  • Analysis techniques for the dissemination and transfer of time and frequency
