Study on co-ordination in Metrology
The co-ordinated development of an appropriate and fit-for-purpose European metrology infrastructure is one of the key objectives of EURAMET's metrology research programmes. To provide evidence that this objective is being met and that EURAMET is progressing towards a more harmonised and co-ordinated European metrology landscape, EURAMET is carrying out a 'Study on co-ordination in Metrology' together with an external consultancy. A survey will be performed amongst the EURAMET NMIs and DIs to provide input about their visions and ambitions with respect to a more co-ordinated approach and to gather evidence on the extent of cross-border co-ordination between NMIs and DIs. The final report on the study is envisaged for January 2017. The results will serve as input to the impact assessment of the EMRP. In addition, a symposium involving NMI and DI directors planned for beginning of 2017 will be organised to present and discuss the results and to prepare for further actions.
