Job vacancy: MSU Science Writer - Communications

The Management Support Unit (MSU) is a dynamic team within NPL, administering large-scale European metrology research programmes on behalf of EURAMET (Europe’s Regional Metrology Organisation). As a Science Writer – Communications, in liaison with EURAMET head office, you’ll be responsible for creating a wide variety of communication materials promoting the programmes and EURAMET itself. More specifically, you will proof and edit your own and other’s material, as well as develop, prepare and deliver promotional material in accordance with the EURAMET communications policy. You will use a flexible writing style, adjusted to different communication types (newsletters, news stories, etc.) and media (website, social media, etc.) and convert scientific outputs into written materials suitable for specialists and non-specialists. You will also design and produce graphical content as well as create and maintain pages on the EURAMET website using a content management system (CMS). You may also be required to travel within Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Science Writer to join an expanding sector of the business and closely interact with a world-class scientific community of 500+ metrologists. Moreover, this role will provide you with a broad exposure to a diverse research organisation, producing technical and non-technical written material for a variety of channels.
