European Metrology Network for Pollution Monitoring
The European Metrology Network for Pollution Monitoring creates a sustainable metrology infrastructure to support European and international regulations and directives targeting pollution monitoring.
The EMN is organising two technical sessions: A fireside chat is organised alongside the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) in the Standardisation Pavilion on 17 November. Focusing on “Trustworthy climate and ocean observations for decision-making”, the session will be chaired by Céline Pascale from the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), Switzerland, in her role as Chair of the EMN Climate and Ocean Observation.
Another session on metrology for climate and ocean observation will take place in the Mexican Pavilion on 16 November together with colleagues from several National Metrology Institutes as well as key partners such as UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and INECC (National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change of Mexico).
Céline Pascale, Chair of EMN Climate and Ocean Observation comments:
„Trustworthy climate decisions start with trustworthy measurements. From calibrating instruments for new space missions to taking precise measurements directly in the field, metrology ensures that climate action is backed by data we can truly rely on. I am looking forward to COP31 and to exchanging with stakeholders from around the globe on how we can foster accurate climate measurements.”
